Scope
What the draft covers, in ISO's own description
ISO describes ISO/IEC DIS 20996 as a document that provides guidance to cloud service customers on business continuity and resilience when using cloud services. That single sentence is the whole of the published description, and this page does not go beyond it.
Who it is written for
Cloud service customers: the organisations that buy and depend on cloud services, not the providers that sell them. The subject is what a customer does to keep its own business running when the service it rents is degraded, unavailable or being exited. That places the document alongside the customer's continuity management system rather than inside the provider's service description.

What it is not
It is not a published standard, not a certification scheme, and not an amendment to ISO 22301. A draft International Standard is in the enquiry phase: national bodies vote on it, and it can still be referred back, reballoted or changed before publication. Anyone who tells you a draft is settled is describing a stage that has not happened.
It is also not public. ISO sells the 45 page draft, and the clause list, the annexes and the requirement text are not published. This site does not reproduce them, quote them or reconstruct them.
What a customer can do now
The useful work does not depend on the clause text. A customer can name the cloud services that carry critical activities, test a restore itself, review the three continuity terms in each contract, and set a dated plan. Those are the four levers the free check measures and the register supports clause by clause. Run the check or read the register.
How this page will change
When ISO records the ballot outcome, this page changes the same day and the watch sends the old value, the new value and the source. When the published text is held, the clause record is added, cited, and the estimate is replaced with the recorded date. Until then, the absence is stated rather than filled.
The rules this is built from
Every requirement on this site is written from a held rule and points to the clause it came from. Nothing is invented while you wait.
